After seeing what an amazing job slc was doing on facebook i'd decided that when we could afford a pair of rabbits that was where we were going to get them from. Sadly my aunties rabbit died but it did mean that we got a huge 5x2x2 hutch for free and it coinsided as some beautiful dutch baby bunnies had been born and fetched into the rescue. I reserved one online and planned to pick the other of the same sex out of the little of 5.
Turns out we'd picked one of 3 boys and when we went to see them we just couldn't leave one on his own. So we got 3 beautiful little bunnies, Jagger, Zep and Bowie. It was the best decision that we've made. The all happy and healthy and each time we went up to see them Sophie and Grant were both so welcoming. Any questions we could think of we could ask, we got a 'adoption' pack with tons of information in and it was so nice to see photos of the bunnies developing constantly before we could take them home at 8 weeks.
We had a fair drive up to see and get the bunnies from Barnsley but it is completely worth it. All the bunnies and piggies there are so loved and cared for and it is amazing to see two young people with such good intentions. I'd thoroughly recommend slc to anyone and i know we may be in touch about a piggy later in the year :) xXx
We have moved and changed our name!!!!

Sophie and Grant are amazing at what they do! I have donated to them and re-homed 4 healthy, happy guinea pigs from them. All of the animals are really well looked after, the hutches and cages are always clean. I hope that they get to stay open because they do a fantastic job! :)
This rescue MUST stay open.

I am lauren , a 21 year old full time mum of our 2year old little boy. I am a photographer on weekends , Photographing children , pets families etc. I came accross SLC rescue when my sons guinea pigs had a turn for the worst. We contacted sophy and grant and asked for there help. These two are truly amazing.. and despite there age they battle through tight monet situations to care for these amandonned rescued animals... the time and dedication they put into there rescue is beyond belief. I am so grateful for there help with our guinea pigs , and my son even took a shine to one of there rescue rabbits 'otis' to replace his guinea friends. he now lives with us and my mad house full of animals , some of these also rescues. It makes me so happy to see people care so much about animals and i am doing my best to help keep them open. In a perfect world there wouldnt be any need for a rescue.. but as there is so many unwanted animals , unlooked after animals , and neglected animals , these 2 here at this rescue are a god send. Please help and keep these open. I sure am ...x
A good place to start

I have re-homed from Sophy twice now i got the most stunning little guinea pig from her. On the visit my son was taken by a rabbit called Peter and so a few weeks later after much thought we deccided to re-home him. If you are new to bunnys and piggys talk to Sophy and Grant they are really nice people and have tons of advice, they are very dedicated to animals :-)
My piggies
Julie | 24/11/2011
My son wanted some Guniea pigs for his birthday and continuously asked for a full year. I contacted Sophie for advice on how to look after piggies etc and she offered to show me and my son how to look after them, do clean outs, health care etc etc. I wanted to make sure my son really wanted g.pigs before I bought them. Sophie and grant were amazing with both my sons which has worn off on my youngest as when he's not at school he is caring for them, playing etc etc. If it wasn't for there input I'm sure he would have lost interest by now. Thank you so much guys for everything you both are truly amazing at what you do and all the animals are so well looked after. I defiantly will be back to re-home again.
